Resize by pixels, percentage, or social-media preset
What is a image resizer?
This tool resizes an image to exact pixel dimensions, a percentage of the original size, or a common social-media preset (Instagram post, YouTube thumbnail, and more) - with an aspect-ratio lock to prevent accidental stretching.
How to use this tool
- 1Drag and drop an image, or click to browse and select one.
- 2Enter exact width/height, click a percentage button, or pick a social-media preset.
- 3Toggle the aspect-ratio lock on or off depending on whether you want proportions preserved.
- 4Click Resize image, then download the result.
Common use cases
Frequently asked questions
What does the aspect-ratio lock do?
When enabled, changing the width automatically recalculates the height (and vice versa) to keep the original proportions, preventing the image from looking stretched or squashed.
Will resizing to a preset distort my image if it doesn't match that aspect ratio?
Selecting a preset automatically turns off the aspect-ratio lock and sets those exact dimensions, which can stretch an image with a different original ratio - crop or choose a matching preset first if that's a concern.
What format does the resized image download as?
PNG, to preserve maximum quality and transparency after resizing.
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No - resizing happens entirely in your browser using the Canvas API.
