Frequently asked questions

Why would I want all three formats at once instead of just picking one?

File size differences between formats vary a lot depending on the image content - a photo often compresses much smaller as WebP or JPG, while a flat-color graphic or logo can compress smaller as PNG. Seeing all three side by side removes the guesswork.

Does converting to JPG lose transparency?

Yes - JPG has no alpha channel, so any transparent areas in the source image are filled with white during conversion. PNG and WebP both preserve transparency.

Is there any quality loss during conversion?

PNG conversion is lossless. JPG and WebP conversions use a fixed high-quality setting (90%) suitable for most use cases, though for finer control over quality, the dedicated Image Compressor tool offers an adjustable slider.

Is my image uploaded anywhere?

No - all conversion happens locally in your browser using the Canvas API.
